About the author
Even though all through his life, Ganesh has had an interest in reading ancient spiritual texts like the Bhagavad Gita and the Upanishads, it is only in 2016 that events took a special turn. One day, after enduring a lot of pain in his injured right hip, which was brought about by a decade of long distance running, and which subsequently needed a hip replacement surgery, he went to a Buddhist meditation center and upon listening to the dharma talk by the teacher there, he went into such a very deep settled state of mind, that even the hip pain was felt as nothing more than mere sensations. This state of mind happened again and again with certain teachers and topics. He found that those instances were always connected to deep, powerful, ancient texts with the teacher talking from somewhere deeper than from the ordinary state of mind. His meditation teacher will often quote the example of Suptabuddha, a poor, hungry leper who was enlightened by listening to the Buddha's talk, to show the mind settling power of these ancient verses that are aptly chosen from a meditative state of mind. He read many of these ancient texts, as far as possible, in their original form in Sanskrit. This website is an attempt to collect and organize these nuggets of wisdom from these texts, for everyone to access. This will be a work of a lifetime.Â
